Salinas Valley Federation of Teachers (SVFT), your local Union, would like to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year in the Salinas Valley.

Thank you for your interest regarding the Salinas Valley Federation of Teachers.  SVFT represents the non-supervisory certificated employees of the Salinas Union High School District, the certificated substitute employees of both the Alisal Union and Salinas City Elementary School Districts.  Our chief objective is to raise the standards of the education profession by securing the conditions essential to an optimal teaching and learning environment.  We promote democracy in our schools and programs to enable our students to take their places in our community and the world beyond.  We work to establish and maintain the rights of our members.  We strive for equal social and educational opportunities for all of our students.  We work to eliminate racism and sexism in all its forms in education.  Lastly, we initiate and support policies, locally, statewide, and nationally, that benefit our students and our members.
